In recognition of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women on November 25th and International Human Rights Day on December 10th, DWAG has joined the international 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign. During this time, DWAG has joined forces with like-minded individuals and organizations to draw attention to violence against women and girls in Sudan, increase global civic engagement, and mobilize the energy and resources to provide relief in Sudan.

For this reason, DWAG is partnering with Simon Billenness, Executive Director of the International Campaign for the Rohingya, to host “People Power: Constituency Lobbying & Activism Training”. Similarly to the work that DWAG undertakes, the ICR advocates for and amplifies the voices of the Rohingya within international organizations, governments, corporations, and within civil society. Simon has extensive experience in human rights and social justice, with an excellent career at social investment firms, development NGOs, religious institutions, trade unions, and human rights organizations. Simon will provide insights into the power that the average person has, with emphasis on those living in the U.S., in initiating substantial and sustainable social change.

Please, register for this training session with the Google Form below. We will host simultaneously on Google Meet; however, the chat will be monitored on Facebook as well.
